About the Traineeship Opportunity

• Position: Funded Trainee
• Section: Political, Press and Information (PPI)
• Duration: Up to 6 months
• Start Date: November 2025
• Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Main Tasks

As a trainee, you will assist the PPI section with a variety of tasks, including:

• Conducting research and political analysis on regional situations.
• Supporting press engagement by drafting newsletters, press releases, and social media posts.
• Producing and editing short videos, social media cards, and factsheets using platforms like Canva.
• Coordinating communication efforts and organizing internal and external events.

Who We’re Looking For (Eligibility & Qualifications)

• Residency: Applicants must currently reside in Ethiopia.
• Education: A Master’s degree in communication, journalism, political science, international relations, economics, law, or other social studies.
• Experience: A maximum of 1 year of professional work experience.
• Language: Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Skills:
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication abilities.
  • Proven capacity to produce audiovisual and social media content (experience with Canva or similar platforms is key).
  • A keen understanding of EU and African Union politics.
