Aggar MFI is the first Commercial private Microfinance established in accordance with proclamation No 40/96 which is currently replaced by proclamation No.626/2009 to serve the “missing middle” to provide credit and saving services in urban and rural areas of the Country.
The founders envisioned addressing both social and profitability objectives. Aggar was established by 443 shareholders with paid-up capital of Birr 4,243,600.00. Currently, its shareholders grew to more than 750, its paid-up capital to more than 200 million, and its total assets to more than 410 million.
Aggar Micro Finance S.C wants to recruit qualified professionals for the following Vacant Positions:
Position 1: Auditor
Minimum Qualification Required: BA/College Diploma in Accounting or related fields.
Expected Minimum Work Experience: 2/6 years of relevant experience in Financial Institution
Expected Competency (Skills required):
- Good knowledge of micro-finance business
- Good knowledge of auditing methodologies
- Good knowledge of company operations
- Ability to undertake financial analysis`
- Excellent verbal communication & report writing skill
- Basic computer skill
Position 2: Branch Manager I
Minimum Qualification Required: BA Degree/College Diploma in Marketing/ Management/ Economics/ Accounting or related field
Expected Minimum Work Experience: 5/8 Years of relevant experience of which 2 years senior Credit & Loan Officer
Expected Competency (Skills required):
- Excellent knowledge of company operation policies and procedures
- Basic knowledge of KYC principles
- Basic understanding of branch operations and microfinance products
- Proficiency in basic financial management and reporting tools
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements at the branch level
- Good knowledge of financial and marketing management principles and practices
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer application skill

Position 3: Senior Auditor
Minimum Qualification Required: BA Degree in Accounting/ Management or related field
Expected Minimum Work Experience: 4 years of relevant experience in Financial Institution
Expected Competency (Skills required):
- Comprehensive knowledge of auditing and accounting principles and practices
- Thorough knowledge of financial laws and audit regulations
- Ability to analyze financial statements
- Good knowledge of microfinance business
- Good communication and human relation skill
- Basic computer application skill

Position 4: Manager, Accounts & Finance
Minimum Qualification Required: MA/BA Degree in Accounting/ Financial Accounting or related field
Expected Minimum Work Experience: 4/6 Years of relevant experience 2 of which in senior positions
Expected Competency (Skills required):
- Though knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Skills in preparing and analyzing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ability to ensure compliance with reporting standards and regulations.
- Expertise in developing and managing budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis. Ability to create financial models and projection
- Comprehensive knowledge of Micro Finance Business
- Knowledge of tax regulations, preparation of tax returns, and compliance with tax laws. Skills in managing tax planning and optimization strategies
- Ability to perform financial analysis to assess profitability, liquidity, and financial health
- Proficiency in using financial analysis tools and software.
- Excellent knowledge of the Financial regulations of the government
- Ability to prepare statement of accounts

Position 5: Director, Strategy Partnership & Business development

Expected Competency (Skills required):

Expected Minimum Work Experience: 7/9 Years of relevant experience; 3 of which in managerial Level in Micro-Finance or Financial Institution, preferably in operation area
Expected Competency (Skills required):
- Proficiency in managing and coordinating cross-functional projects involving finance, HR, and IT
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skill
- Understanding of corporate governance principles and practices relevant to microfinance institutions
- Familiarity with financial statements, reporting, and financial management within the context of microfinance
- Crisis Management, Decision Making & Communication
- Expertise in assessing creditworthiness and managing credit risk in microfinance lending portfolios
- Knowledge of loan underwriting processes and criteria within a microfinance context
- Experience in collections strategies and managing delinquency rates effectively.

Position 7: Chief Corporate Service Officer
Minimum Qualification Required: MA/BA Degree in Accounting /Management/Economics or related field
Expected Minimum Work Experience: 8/10 Years of relevant experience; 4 of which in managerial position at Banks, Micro-Finance or Financial Institution
Expected Competency (Skills required):
- Extensive knowledge of Financial Industry management practical and procedure operations
- Skills in recruitment, talent development, and performance management to build a high-performing team.
- Knowledge of compensation structures, benefits administration, and employment law
- Ability to develop and oversee IT strategies and policies that align with business objectives
- Experience with implementing and integrating IT systems and solutions that support financial and HR functions
