Position: Junior Accountant
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
– Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
– Strong knowledge of IFRS standards.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Proficiency in Peach tree accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow up outstanding receivable (Credit Sales) due dates and collect amount overdue.
- Post cash sales invoices, credit sales invoices, check payment vouchers, petty cash, SIV, GRN.
- Follow up cash sales, credit sales invoice and filed serially
- Follow up that income of the organization are collected and accounted for timely in line with agreements and other documents.
- Check the completeness of documents before any payment is effected out of the petty cash.
- Prepare monthly ERCA Tax.
- Assist senior accountant in the preparation of financial statements of the organization.
- Assist the senior accountant when the financial statements are verified by external audit in time
- Prepares cash receipt vouchers and petty cash payment vouchers as per the order from her/his immediate supervisor.
- Deposit the cash collected immediately and submits the deposit slip to his/her immediate supervisor.
- Handles bank correspondences of the Finance Section and collects all bank advises and bank statements.
- Research vendors to determine alternative sources, types of materials, supplies, and methods and availability, quality, and price of products or services.
- Develop and maintain lists of vendors for procurement that meet the standards of the organization.
- Timely deliveries purchased goods to store keeper after assuring of quality and quantity of purchase requisition.
- Process contracts; monitor for completeness, accuracy and appropriateness of payments.
- Facilitates payment for purchases made and delivered to stores.
- Audit contractor records and conduct site visits to verify compliance with contract terms and legal requirements.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
