Position: Procurement Officer
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The educational qualifications and qualifications of a Procurement Officer might include the following:
- A Degree in Purchasing and Logistics, Purchasing and Supply, Business Studies, Supply Chain Management, or Marketing
- A Degree secured form a well – known and accredited University
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to negotiate contracts
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time and finance efficiently and effectively
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Accurate attention to detail
- Goal – oriented, organized team player
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all level
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain relationships with vendors / suppliers
- Actively participates in the preparation of the budget estimates / forecasts that are required for procuring items in collaboration with the procurement and Finance Managers and Head of Business Support Division
- Engages in making professional decisions while selecting vendors, identifying the proper and quality items / materials, facilitating and supporting the procurement process and other related activities
- Reviews and updates the list of all vendors and suppliers nationally and internationally in collaboration with the Procurement Manager and Head of Business Support Division
- Updates and maintains procurement records and other important data regularly
- Participates actively during negotiations of prices of items / materials with different vendors / suppliers and while preparing and finalizing supply contracts with these vendors / suppliers
- Involves actively in development of plans for the Department / Unit
- Ensures that all products and supplies to be procured are as per the specifications and meet all the respective quality standards
- Work with team members to complete duties as needed
- Maintain and updates a list of supplies procured
- Involves actively in looking for and arranging the appropriate transportation means to ship all the items procured form the suppliers to the office and the to the site
- Engages actively in the collection, loading and shipping of all the procured items / materials to the site
- Prepares and submits all the required way – bills and other documents essential for smooth transfer of all the items / materials
- Monitors, tracks and follows – up that all items / materials loaded and sent to the site have arrived safely
- Prepares and submits activity / performance report
