After meeting all the prerequisites set forth by the National Bank of Ethiopia, Abay Bank was formally founded on July 14, 2010, and on November 3, 2010, it began conducting full-fledged banking operations.

Position 1:  Officer of Interest-Free Banking Operations, Senior

 

 

WORK REQUIREMENT

 

A bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, management, business administration, finance, accounting, or a closely related field of study, coupled with four years of banking operations experience—two of those years spent in the IFB operations sector—is required.

 

The Officer is in charge of organizing and assisting the District Office’s branches and IFB activities.  He or she makes sure that protocols are followed regularly and that risks are appropriately managed; encourages and mentors staff members who are in charge of providing top-notch service; guarantees that suspense accounts are cleared on time; keeps an eye on the management of the IFB portfolio and transaction level risks;

 

Location of Work: District Office in Dire Dawa

 

Second position: Senior Auditor

 

 

Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of four years of experience in banking operations and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, Accounting, Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field of study.

 

The Senior Auditor is in charge of creating an audit program and planning the audit’s goals, parameters, and techniques. chooses the auditing techniques to be applied, such as the sampling strategies. carries out audits professionally and in compliance with the authorized audit program. Conducts audits, which include defining and identifying issues, creating criteria, examining and evaluating the evidence, and recording the processes and procedures of the auditee. Notifies the auditee’s management of the audit and consulting engagement outcomes promptly through written reports and oral presentations. Perform an audit for a special investigation or fraud investigation.

 

Workplace: Head Office

 

Third Position: Credit Business Manager

 

Qualification & Experience: MBA/BA degree in Management/ Accounting, Finance/ Economics/ Business Administration, or a related field of study with a minimum of 8/10 years of experience in banking operations. including four years in the field of credit management.

 

The manager in charge of targeting prospective clients determines their needs, hires them, and builds a credit relationship. provides the consumer with information and advice regarding credit applications, terms, eligibility, use, debt servicing, and cross-selling. gathers and examines every document needed for loan processing. Gathers adequate financial and non-financial information about the customer. helps with preparing loan and mortgage contracts, credit information, legal opinions, and collateral estimation.maintains loan utilization and repayment, develops NPL resolution strategies, and engages in friendly settlement negotiations with customers.

 

Workplace: Adama District

 

Position 4: Grade I Branch Manager

 

Qualifications and Experience: Six years of work experience in banking operations, two of which were in supervisory positions, and a Bachelor of Arts in Management, Economics, Accounting & Finance, Marketing, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field of study related to business.

 

The Manager organizes and plans the branch’s overall operations, monitors the branch’s progress toward its goals based on predetermined performance standards, and assesses the results. He or she oversees and encourages the customer service representatives in charge of providing superior customer care. In addition to offering expert counsel, he or she locates and courteses possible clients.

 

Workplace: Assosa, Gambella, and Damboya branches
