💡 What You’ll Be Doing: Strategic Communications & Digital Media Analytics
As an Associate Communications Officer, you will be on the front lines, helping the UN Secretariat and its global network manage its reputation, communicate its vital work, and engage target audiences. Your core activities will be focused on **strategic communications**, **digital media analytics**, and content creation:
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Digital Intelligence & Media Analysis: Monitor traditional, social, and **digital media analytics** to gather insights, identify public narratives, and inform communications strategies for the UN.
- Strategic Campaign Management: Contribute to the planning and implementation of **communications strategies** and campaigns that build support and have a measurable impact.
- Content Creation & Multimedia Production: Draft compelling narratives, messaging, press releases, web stories, and produce multimedia assets (video clips, podcasts, social media content) optimized for global reach.
- Media Relations: Conduct media mapping, foster relationships with key media outlets, and coordinate high-profile press conferences and events.
- Advocacy & Outreach: Deliver in-person and digital outreach campaigns to advance UN priorities in areas like peace, development, and humanitarian affairs.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Collect and analyze communications data, identifying trends and providing draft insights through **data visualization** for evidence-based decision-making.

📚 Educational Background:
A **first-level university degree** (Bachelor’s or equivalent of at least three years) is required in one of the following relevant fields. **No work experience is required!**

🗣️ Age, Language, and Nationality:
- Age: You must be 32 years old or younger by the end of this year (born on or after 1 January 1993).
- Language: Fluency (UN Level II) is required in either English or French.
- Nationality: You must be a national of a participating Member State (e.g., China, Germany, Japan, United States of America, etc. – See the full list in the official job opening).
Important Note on the Roster: Success in the three-stage examination process (online written exam, specialized paper, and oral interview) places you on a roster for up to three years. Placement on the roster does not guarantee employment, but positions are filled as they become available globally, including at key offices like Addis Ababa, New York, Geneva, and Vienna.
