🚀 Opportunity Alert: We are hiring a Communication Specialist to serve as the focal point for the Governance Cluster. This is a long-term contract opportunity (until October 2028) based in Addis Ababa.

Key Responsibilities

The specialist will support regional/continental projects in the Governance Cluster. Key duties include:

Relationship Building: Establish trustful relationships with projects and secondees to the AU Commission and AUDA-NEPAD.
Content Creation: Create impact stories and regular social media posts for all Governance Cluster projects.
Digital Strategy: Advise projects on digital communication (LinkedIn, Instagram) and innovative formats.

Agency Management: Serve as liaison officer to external communication agencies and manage contracts.
Visibility: Contribute to office-wide information sharing and ensure excellent visibility for GIZ AU.

Requirements & Qualifications

🎓 Education

University Degree (Min. Bachelor’s) in Media Communication, Journalism, or a relevant field.

💼 Experience

At least 5 years of professional experience in Journalism or Public Relations.
Proven experience producing impact stories for different audiences.
Active professional usage of Social Media (LinkedIn & Instagram).
Experience working with politically sensitive issues and managing external agencies.

💻 Technical Skills

Excellent command of English (Speaking & Writing).
Good command of Adobe Suite InDesign Photoshop is an advantage.

Knowledge of another AU-official language is an asset.
