GIZ NGO Vacancy Intern

International cooperation for sustainable development is a field in which the German implementing organization Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH offers services globally. In more than 120 nations worldwide, we strive to create a future worth living.

Currently in its third and final phase, the Biodiversity & Forestry Programme aims to strengthen partners’ capacities at the local, regional, and federal levels while consolidating, stepping up, and institutionalizing the processes and outcomes attained in the previous two phases. By employing digital solutions, the organizations in charge of managing forests and protected areas—especially the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority (EWCA)—are assisted in building their capacity and skill sets as well as enhancing their monitoring and knowledge management.

BFP has initiated a stock take of its manufactured goods. The purpose of the internship is to support the program and EWCA in ensuring that the documentation generated over the previous ten years is properly transferred. Additionally, there is a chance that other pertinent EWCA documentation will be turned over.

There will be assurances regarding reception and appropriate integration at the EWCA library and potentially in other technical departments (research & monitoring, community conservation, park development, etc.). Building on the “stock take” that BFP started, additional support will be given to ensure that “lessons learned” over the previous ten years and the relevant documentation find a permanent physical and digital home (such as a website) at EWCA headquarters.
