🎓 Requirements & Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: **Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc)**.
  • License: Must hold a **renewed professional license from EFDA**.
  • Experience: **More than 3 years** of previous experience working as a clinician in recognized specialized/referral hospitals, under-five OPD, Adult, or MCH OPD.
  • **OR:** Working with an **NGO as part of a MHS (Mobile Health Services) team.**
  • **Practical Experience:** Must have practical experience working at Health facilities, Adult, under five, or MCH OPDs.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven capacity in addressing psychosocial needs and counseling.
  • Experience in training staff, mentoring, and building the capacity of local staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive, and empathetic.
  • Excellent in the provision of health messages and creative, especially in **Oromeffa**.
  • Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibility.

✅ Key Areas of Accountability

The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care, treatment, and patient follow-up according to FMOH protocols. Key duties include:

  • Implementing and promoting universal **hygiene standards, bio-hazard prevention, and infection control**.
  • Organizing and carrying out care/treatments based on medical prescriptions and assisting during consultations/rounds.
  • Identifying **Sexually Gender Based Violence (SGBV) victims** and referring them for necessary treatment (knowledge of PEP Kit importance is key).
  • Ensuring proper patient reception, installation, and assistance, particularly for those lacking autonomy.
  • **Triage** of patients in waiting areas or emergencies, detecting priority cases, and carrying out first aid care.
  • Carrying out admission, surveillance, and follow-up, assessing evolution, and identifying emergency situations.
  • Supervising and training nurse-aids, nutritional assistants, cleaners, and other related staff.
  • Participating in pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (stock takes, following protocols).
