Hiring for MERL Advisor & Driver Positions
Mercy Corps is a leading global organization operating in Ethiopia since 2004. We are currently implementing interventions to save lives and build secure livelihoods across six regions. We invite qualified applicants for the following Two Key Positions.

1. Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Advisor

Job Purpose
The MERL Advisor will lead the implementation of the MERL strategy for the “Empowering Families, Enriching Lives” project. This initiative focuses on improving early childhood development (ECD) and fostering economic empowerment in Addis Ababa.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy: Develop and implement a robust MERL framework aligned with project objectives.
- Data Management: Lead data collection, analysis, and reporting using tools like Tola Data.
- Capacity Building: Train staff and partners on M&E systems and data quality.
- Learning: Facilitate regular learning sessions and document success stories.
- Compliance: Ensure donor compliance and oversee financial aspects of MERL activities.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, or International Development.
- Experience: Minimum 3 Years relevant experience in M&E, Research, and Learning.
- Skills: Advanced data analysis, proficiency in MS Office 365, and fluency in English & Amharic.
2. Driver

Job Purpose
The Driver will provide safe transport services for Mercy Corps program and support staff in the Jijiga area, adhering to all traffic and safety rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Mercy Corps vehicles safely as assigned.
- Maintain accurate vehicle log-sheets and conduct routine checks.
- Responsible for the safekeeping of vehicle equipment and tools.
- Assist with logistics and administrative tasks as required.
- Willingness to travel to remote field locations.
Requirements
- Experience: Valid Driving License with relevant driving experience (NGO experience preferred).
- Skills: Good time management, safety management, and basic problem-solving skills.
- Traits: Motivated, flexible, and culturally sensitive.
