1. Lead Mechanical Engineer
Contract Type: LICA 10 (Specialist – Retainer)
Location: Addis Ababa (With travel)
Duration: 1 Year (Renewable)
Role Purpose:
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering designs (HVAC, water supply, PVs, fire-fighting systems) that comply with local codes and international standards.
Requirements:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (5 years exp) OR Bachelor’s Degree (7 years exp).
- Essential Skills: HVAC Design, AutoCAD (2D/3D), Industrial equipment knowledge.
- Language: Fluent in English and Amharic.
2. Finance Associate
Contract Type: LICA 6 (Support – Regular)
Location: Mekele
Duration: 6 Months (Renewable)
Role Purpose:
Provide accounting, budget administration, cash management, and financial reporting support. Ensure transactions comply with UNOPS financial rules and regulations.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting (2 years exp) OR Secondary School (6 years exp).
- Experience: Financial management, budgeting, and ERP software knowledge.
- Language: Fluent in English.
3. Project Management Support Officer
Contract Type: LICA 8 (Specialist – Regular)
Location: Home Based (Remote)
Context: Supporting UNODC partnership
Role Purpose:
Provides operational, analytical, and administrative support to ensure effective planning and implementation of projects. Involves data management and reporting.
Requirements:
- Education: Master’s Degree (0 years exp) OR Bachelor’s Degree (2 years exp).
- Experience: Project management support and data analysis tools (MS Office/G-Suite).
- Language: Fluent in English AND Portuguese.
4. Data Collection and Management Officer
Contract Type: LICA 8 (Specialist – Retainer)
Location: Addis Ababa (With field travel)
Duration: 1 Year (Renewable)
Role Purpose:
Gather, clean, and aggregate data for reports and analysis. Conduct field visits for data collection across various sectors (Health, Education, WASH).
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Education, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in data collection or field research. Mobile data tools (Kobo/ODK) experience is desired.
- Language: Fluent in English & Amharic. Knowledge of Somali/Tigrinya is an asset.
