The Ethiopian Airlines Group is pleased to announce the opening of a new position as Executive Sous Chef and Catering Driver I.
After more than 75 years of successful travel, Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopian) has established itself as the premier aviation group in Africa. Naturally, Ethiopian skin is ageing gracefully. The airline has made a name for itself over the years as the industry leader in technology leadership, network expansion, and aviation mentoring. Ethiopian began flying in 1946, operating five C-47 aircraft, and made its first flight to Cairo via Asmara.
Since then, it has expanded rapidly and kept introducing state-of-the-art aviation systems and technology. As a leader in aviation technology, Ethiopia was instrumental in introducing new aircraft to the continent, including the continent’s first jet plane, B767, B777-200LR, B787 Dreamliner, and 787-9. Additionally, Ethiopia took the lead in operating the first Airbus A350 XWB in Africa.
First position: driver for catering
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
A minimum of four years of driving experience in ET or in a recognised organisation, as well as completion of the 12th and 10th grades in accordance with the old or new curriculum and a Dry II or Public II driving licence.
• Having an auto/second-grade driver’s licence is useful.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
At least nine years of experience in similar roles at a large-scale catering production unit or four- or five-star hotel are required for a degree in hotel management, food and beverage service, hotel management, restaurant management, hotels and tourism management, cooperative business management, property management, management or marketing management, or any related field of study, from a recognised TVET, college or university.
OR
A minimum of 10 years of work experience in similar capacities at a large-scale catering production unit or 4–5-star hotel, as well as a college diploma, level III certificate, or recognised catering institute or TVET College in any related field of study, confectionery, baking, pastry making, or kitchen operation.
